League Mode Intermission - Ready Button

Post by wawmoose » Wed Mar 30, 2016 12:41 am

I'd like to suggest adding a 'Ready' button for Captains from the lobby.
All it would do it, if both teams use it, would start the next period immediately without the 1-minute wait.

I find the 1 minute pause awesome for colour casting though

+1 For this.
Often league mode games are played without being streamed/casted.

Tho if this gets implemented then casters should also get ready button IMHO.

Would all 8 players and caster have to hit ready or just players? Do bench players need to ready up too? Would there be a timer that expires and continues the game automatically if not everyone presses it?

I guess id just like to understand the benefits. If its just the ability to skip the stats and not wait the full minute thats different than allocating more time and waiting for everyone to opt in (bathroom breaks, yoga/stretching, meditation, etc). Hot pockets take 1:50.

I would think you need one caster to hit the button, and both team captains. Having benched players needing to ready up isn't that important, and the players can just let their captain know if they are ready or not. I believe the benefits are just skipping the long break, there really isn't a point or a need for long breaks between periods (2+ minutes). If someone really needs a long break, their team can remake, but otherwise the 90 second pause is sufficient for most things.

Problem: People don't want to wait the full intermission period when playing league mode in-houses.

Solution: IF Team 3 has >= 1 player THEN
IntermissionTime = 1 minute
ELSE
IntermissionTime = 10 seconds

Y ppl always trying to complicate?

If I'm understanding the problem it's different from what you are describing. Ie if a team wants to do a zhl scrim but have some probes watch the match. I think any league mode without specs could just be done with normal and lobby teams.

Fwiw though I don't think it's a problem either way.

People are okay with 14 player lobbies now?
