Yes, try yourself, quickly move your cursor to other side and press z.
Alright. I did test it. And to exclude human error - I tested it with an AH script.
I didn't record my test, so you have to take my word for it. Or take this script and test it yourself. Doesn't take much longer than a minute.
I tested it on NA East, where I had 150ms.
Concluded that you and Junky were both wrong on this one. :oops:
[+] AutoHotkey Script
SetKeyDelay, 0

F4::ExitApp
F5::
{
MouseMove, 0, -200 , 0, R ; move mouse cursor 200 pixels upwards instantly
Sleep, 5 ; wait 000.5 secs
Send Z
Return
}

The level of human error must be really high, while in-game, if both of you thought wrong.
Now there are 2 reasons to even consider playing without cursor boost:
1. reduce this miss-boost created by human error.
2. reduce the loss of shot power when boosting out of the net to pass.

Though, I still rather play with the cursor boost on just for that little extra reaction time. :roll:

That's the "nicest" post I have ever seen from forumusername. Mets should take it as a compliment I think. :lol:

Hmm but still. I doubt anyone could ever move mouse 200 pixels in 0.2 milliseconds. So I guess that in theory, you guys are right but in practice - I am. :|

thanks for wasting my morning :D

it seems that if you move your mouse from point a to b (not insta teleport) you would get different result.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJzTcd7vasE - in this video I used ubermensch sleep 0.5 - but as you can see - if I move my mouse more before executing the script I boost wrong direction. Wrong direction also with sleep 5 after moving mose a bit before the script.

Love that video! :lol:
Nice experiment. I would have never thought about neither moving mouse before script execution nor to reduce 0.5 milliseconds to even lower (since I thought that's pretty close to zero time anyway).
Now I have a dream. That one of the mapmakers explains this phenomenon. :shock:
I feel like I might come back to this someday, do the experiments again. See what is the threshold of time that needs to pass by in order for the proper boost direction to take action. Maybe even not make the mouse move instantly but just very very fast. (in MouseMove, 0, -200 , 0, R that highlighted 0 can be changed to change the movement speed. 0 is fastest 100 is slowest)

nvm. Couldn't recreate this "bug" on EU. And on East NA only with like 25%-33% success. The way I see - it's no concern really. If it's hard to reproduce with humanly unreal speed script on 150-160ms server then there is no way it could happen in a real game.

It also happens with onetimers, there have been many times where I get lucky and I'm already turning my zealot away from the enemy net and because of what I said I still end up scoring
