There are still trades in an auction draft style, after the draft.

How can you be in favor of totally free free agency. It messes up league balance terribly. Last season, if Wildfires team would have got Burn via being team w worst record or most money, and thus kept Rasputin, that team could have actually been pretty competitive and burn probably would have stayed. Instead it imbalances the league via free agency.

Also, of course Ruckle wants free agent rights. He wants to have a player on every team.

Trades are complete owners control. Still no player rights.

So far no one has suggested a totally free Free Agency.

Burn hasn't been on sc2 anyways since. It was Wild's choice to trade rasp away for two players, he could have offered him more salary to keep him.
Burn would have gone to Mahar's team cuz Mahar had worst start being 0-4 by the time Burn entered the league.

No system can prevent smurfs. You can only hope to deter them.

Good try -- but actually burn came into the league 2 weeks before the league started. On April 11th

Korhal War Pigs sign, free agent, BurnToMemory for $40"

6 days after the draft and 2 weeks before the regular season. Sounds legit.

Ah! My memory isn't what it used to be. Since there was no records before the season started we would have had to go with salary space. Which at that point The War Pigs had the highest salary cap and he still would have gone to the War Pigs. Or maybe I'm not understanding your proposal. Regardless the War Pigs still would have had more money than anyone to bid on him at the time and he would have gone to them. The Rasp trade still would have been the same, Burn just would have a higher salary number assigned to him.

Typical waiver system is based on draft order. Last pick in the draft gets first dibs on the waiver wire. Then once you pick up a free agent through waivers, you go to the bottom of the list. So using a normal waiver system, Burn would've gone to whoever got last pick in the draft.

Ruckle was signed up for draft and now not. I wonder which name I don't recognize is actually Ruckle. :|.

There are about 15 names on the free agent list that I haven't played with. We should have some days of pre-draft showcase for owners to scout and give a chance for those guys to make a team.
