NSIC YOU SUCK

Post by NSIC » Mon Jul 13, 2015 12:13 pm

NSIC you suck.

NSIC you complain a lot.

NSIC don't tell me how to pass or play the game, you can talk when you can click through everyone and score.

----
[FIRST AND FOREMOST I DO NOT --(try not)-- ATTACK PEOPLES CHARACTER (friend or foe), but I will attack slow and frankly, boring gameplay..incessantly]
----

Well, maybe they are right. Regardless, its been over a year since I first starting playing this wonderful game and its really unfortunate that I am still perpetually unfulfilled.
(Its so bad sometimes I can't even sleep at night, thus the forum post)

What am I unfufilled about? My own skill? -- which understandably could use consistency, but Nay.

In truth I care less about the win or loss, its irrelevant to fun.
I care less about other peoples mistakes or derps (it happens), its irrelevant to fun.

Fun is inclusive, trusting, fast-paced, legendary games. How often do I play these games? 1/10? 1/30? 1/100?

Maybe I am just not playing with the elite of the elite? Perhaps one day I'll be invited into the upper echelons of the ZH society: real-ID's rdy for ninja, skype client blowing up, teen pop, the whole enchilada.

I guess I'm a dreamer. Anyways, ZHL teams are a step in the right direction -- despite its rigidity. Its an opportunity to synthesize chem and discuss such matters, but perhaps we could speed up the process so I don't have to be drafted with each and every individual in the community.

____________________________________________________________________

I have noticed that a lot of people are unable to read my plays or me.

e.g:

"WTF is this kid doing skating next to me, I only pass far away"
(tempo* passing is the MOST op way to click battle past someone
without having to actually click battle)

*tempo passing: unselfish distribution of the puck :!: without delay :!:. Even when the pass to your guarded teammate is razor thin. Tempo passing requires great positioning. Also called, no-delay passing.

The converse being lets hold the puck for an extra few seconds while NSIC and the plays melt away. It takes practice getting in the zen of tempo passing, and sometimes you will make a bad decisions, but in time noob's become pro's and legendary games can become normal.

Sometimes holding is necessary. Lanes can be over guarded and the right play may be to drive it in. Whatever the great play is, create it; don't wait for it to happen!

Passing to guarded players is a must. In the highest levels of the game everyone will be guarded. Reserve passing to guarded players for offensive situations.

"this clown, why do you sometimes pass back to the same player after catching the pass?....better hold onto this puck for a little while then.."
(SEE *TEMPO PASSING)

"Why the hell is his 1 timer on? Your not even close to the goal!"
(Its called 1 timer passing [should be a regular thing]. Often times I'll have direct line of sight to switch the field when I'm playing the last man in a triangle,
but the re-directed pass is often unused over the preferred method of: "I'll get it to the other side myself, no matter how long it takes or how many people I need to click through."

"LoL Nsic, you noob skating up and down the switch, ain't nobody going to see you over there when all the pucks funnel to allstars"
(really though, calculate the pass/receive ratio of top players each game...they can get 2-3x more practice per game...positive feedback loop)

"Oh you screwed up the play NSIC? No more passes for you, cant be trusted"
(lasts more than 1 game. Damn you people and your unchanging perceptions of other players skill)

"NSIC can't anticipate catching a guarded pass and boosting away...shouldn't let him practice either."

"NSIC only passes, cover the passes" (to my advantage :))

What I feel it boils down to is that a lot of players are unwilling to make the no-delay obvious short pass. Perhaps they feel passes should be reserved for epic plays at a distance and if it isn't epic then I'll just hold onto the puck for a few seconds, doesn't hurt right?

We must abandon the ego (new age hippie, IK). We must realize that the play doesn't start and stop with a single assist pass. We must also realize that each pass shifts the field and in turn opens lanes and opportunities.

Good luck scoring on a competent, defensive minded team -- say Rush, Guerrilla, Blitzerg, Goza -- that has the time to make a full and complete transition to defense. If the defense is setup, in my own hyperbolic opinion the play is already lost. Defense should never have time to have a proper setup against a tempo passing team. I consider that the lack of offensive speed has led us to the situation we find ourselves in where click-battles in front of the goal seems to be the most effective way of scoring (currently).

Once tempo passing is mastered, tried and true formation plays can be made. The types of plays ALL TEAMS practice in irl land.
(I haven't really seen any yet, except triangle, but that's more ad-hoc than a prepared execution)

Looking forward to the day when 30 passes per person in any arbitrary IH is normal..rip

Thank you to the people I was able to tempo pass with (once upon a time) all the way down the court without much resistance. LingKing you overcame the disease (at least that game), your my hero.

Lots of good play-makers out there. Unfortunately, any plays touched by 1 bad apple can ruin the pie.

Ehh, I'm sorry but I have to disagree with this, being vegetarian I only really like it stuffed with a lot of cheese, no meat. Also hot sauce, while it may be good, is just messy and doesn't really add a lot after a drop or so per bite. We shouldn't look at wholeness, more so the individual parts that make the enchilada. It's more precise.

PS: I also don't really like beans that much either.

I prefer the smothered burrito i.e enchilada style. Steak is good, but I do recognize the increasing impact on the environment and the atrocities of commercial production. Regardless, you can never have enough hot sauce.

rip thread.

Tempo passing is great, but it's not the only thing.

And click spam on the crease is certainly not the most effective method of scoring (watch me/art in g2 and g4 of the s4 finals, no spam there)

I would agree, it isn't the only thing. Nor do I think tempo passing necessarily negates other legit play styles. All tempo passing means to me is lightning fast transitions. Which I feel will increase the competitiveness of the game.

I wasn't necessarily trying to communicate that clicking on the crease is the thing. Just that the defense regularly has enough time to setup which means you typically need a catch in the paint by a really great clicker/dribbler to find an opening.

I'll take a look at the game sometime tonight.
