u can try to get behind or on the sides of the striker to get the outrange him when he receives the puck but its kinda risky / you can do a move forward at last moment to surprise the striker but that can also be risky
i think that they are many techniques and they can all work but it requires a bit of work to know what to do exactly, the timings and shit

junky = frent

That is completely different thing junky. When you boost for a one-timer shot it matters where you see your cursor when u press z, not where the actual server thinks your cursor is. This is because you control all of the steps needed to boost: moving your cursor and then pressing z. With one-timers, there is a factor independent to you, which is the puck coming to you. Lets say you have 100 ms. You have one-timer on. Your friend makes a pass to you that takes 500 milliseconds to reach you. Since you have 100 ms, it takes 100 milliseconds for the signal that the pass has been made, and another 100 milliseconds for your response to get back, along with other outside delays, such as your reaction time. Ignoring this, lets say the second you see the puck on your screen is 100 milliseconds away you move your cursor. It won't register because in the server that is running the actual game without delays that you experience, the puck already reached you by the time you saw it 100 milliseconds away, and by the time the cursor move registered to the server the puck was already 100 milliseconds away from you.
